Vũ Cao Đàm

Danh họa Vũ Cao Đàm - được mệnh danh "Tứ trụ nền hội họa Việt Nam."

(Chữ Hán: 武高談, sinh năm 1908 tại Việt Nam và mất năm 2000 tại Pháp) là họa sĩ, nhà điêu khắc với nhiều tác phẩm tranh, tượng nổi tiếng được triển lãm ở nơi trên thế giới. Vũ Cao Đàm là một trong nhóm tứ kiệt trời Âu của nền hội họa Việt Nam (Phổ - Thứ - Lựu - Đàm).​

Vu Cao Dam (Chinese: 武高談, born in 1908 in Vietnam and died in 2000 in France) is a painter and sculptor with many famous paintings and statues exhibited around the world.[ first] Vu Cao Dam is one of the four European masterpieces of Vietnamese painting (Phu - Thu - Luu - Dam).

Vu Cao Dam was a student of the second class of the Indochina Fine Arts College, but the first class of the Faculty of Sculpture (1926-1931). At first, Vu Cao Dam participated in both painting and sculpture, but in the second year he switched to sculpture. He once said: "Teacher Tardieu (the first Rector of the Indochina Fine Arts College) saw that I was capable of sculpting and I made a bust for my father, he praised it for being beautiful. So the second year, I went straight to sculpture and I enjoyed it, then I majored in portraiture."

Many of his sculptures are considered to be the epitome of modern Vietnamese sculpture, including two statues currently kept at the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum, Portrait and Girl with Comb. These two statues have been redrawn by generations of artists and architects, creating plaster versions. We can find plaster versions of these two statues in any architectural or art drawing class.
