Lưu Công Nhân

Họa sĩ Lưu Công Nhân là một trong những họa sĩ có nhiều triển lãm tranh nhất Việt Nam. Trong gần 60 năm làm nghề, ông đã để lại hàng ngàn kiệt tác với đủ các chất liệu, từ sơn dầu, màu nước đến giấy dó… Lưu Công Nhân đặc biệt nổi tiếng với các bức tranh nude và câu chuyện về lối sống phóng túng, dám dấn thân cho nghệ thuật của ông vẫn luôn là đề tài được giới văn nghệ truyền tụng bấy lâu nay…

Viết về họa sĩ Lưu Công Nhân, nhà phê bình Mỹ thuật Nguyễn Quân nhận xét: “Ông là một người cao lớn, tài hoa, duyên dáng, học thức và lịch thiệp như chỉ có trong thơ và truyện trữ tình. Có một nền tảng gia đình sung túc, một lý lịch chính trị quá sáng, người họa sĩ tài năng này đã sớm lựa chọn và định hình chobanr thân một con đường sáng tác nghệ thuật riêng, luôn tìm kiếm trong mọi chất liệu và khuynh hướng.

Sự nghiệp sáng tác của ông khá đồ sộ bởi ông lao động sáng tạo miệt mài và sáng tác trên nhiều chất liệu từ sơn dầu, sơn mài, lụa… đến bột màu, thuốc nước.

Painter Luu Cong Nhan was born on August 17, 1930 in Phu Tho, died on July 21, 2007 in Da Lat. He graduated from the Viet Bac Resistance School of Fine Arts, class 1950 - 1953 (also known as the Fine Arts Course of the Resistance Against the French, signed by Minister Nguyen Van Huyen to establish the school). Artist To Ngoc Van is the Principal. 22 students were selected through two exams, along with a number of students from Indochina Fine Arts College to study.

Compared to his generation, Luu Cong Nhan is one of the few artists with a working spirit throughout, drawing quite a few works. In the last years of his life, when he suffered from Parkinson's disease, then lung disease, his limbs were very weak, he was confined to a wheelchair, but he still drew. With the spirit of minimalism, just a few strokes, a few "smeared colors" are done, but those paintings, especially still lifes, are still very calm, full of context. It seemed that time and illness, even death, did not affect him. Just like the Greek player in Nikos Kazantzakis' Alaxis Zorba, before he closes his eyes, he still sees the fresh girl walking through the door, the last painting of Luu Cong Nhan painted nude.
